Event Overview
The Thrifty 5K is a running event described as the "original garage sale 5k." The 2026 edition will be its fifth occurrence. The event takes place in Allison Park, Pennsylvania, with the start and finish at the Harmar Pavilion in North Park.
Registration and Pricing
Registration includes entry to the 5K race, a vintage GCXC race shirt from a past event, a custom GCXC finisher medal from a past event, and custom age group awards from past GCXC races. The event features early bird pricing, which increases daily from February 11th to February 15th, starting at $15. The standard registration price is $20 beginning February 16th.
Post-Race Activities
After the awards ceremony, there is a post-race "flea market" where additional vintage race merchandise is available for purchase. All items are priced at $10 or less, and payment is cash only. Available items have included long and short sleeve t-shirts, quarter-zip tech shirts, blankets, beach towels, shorts, coffee mugs, and other glassware.
