Event Overview
The Three Days of Syllamo is a three-day ultrarunning stage race. Participants can run one, two, or all three days. The event consists of a 50k run on Friday, a 50-mile run on Saturday, and a 20k run on Sunday, totaling approximately 94 miles.
Course Details
The courses change every year and are run almost entirely on singletrack trail. Terrain includes rugged, rocky, and steep sections, creek crossings, and forested areas. Elevation gain averages 150 to 170 feet per mile, with some sections exceeding 200 feet per mile. The high point is around 1,400 feet and the low point is around 300 feet above sea level.
Venue & Logistics
The event is held at the Blanchard Springs Recreation Area. Primitive group campsites are reserved for participants; individual sites are available first-come, first-served. There are heated restrooms and typically showers available.
Packet pickup is available on Thursday afternoon and before each race day. Race start times are 9:00 AM on Friday and Sunday, and 6:00 AM on Saturday.
Aid & Support
Aid stations are typically 4 to 9 miles apart. They provide electrolyte mix, ginger ale, Coca-Cola, water, gels, chews, sandwiches, fruit, pickles, chips, and candy. Runners must bring their own water bottles, as cups are not provided. Basic first aid is available at all aid stations.
Pacers are allowed only during the 50-mile race on Saturday. Crew access is limited to specified locations for the Saturday race.
Post-Race & Awards
A meal is provided to all runners at the end of each race. The event atmosphere includes music and sometimes a live band. Runners who complete all three days receive a custom "Rock" award. Awards ceremonies are held for overall and masters male and female finishers after each stage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
