Events
The Thoroughbred Trot offers several events for participants. These include a 5K run/walk and a 1 mile fun run/walk. There is also a Fastest Kid race series for Northside Elementary students and a virtual runner/walker option.
Course
The main 5K event is a point-to-point course on paved roads in a country setting. The route uses Dudley Street, Brand Street, and East Stephens Street in a long out-and-back configuration. The total elevation change is 135 feet. The race starts and finishes at Walter Bradley Park. There will be two water stations along the course, but no restrooms. The Versailles Police Department provides traffic safety support.
Features
All 5K participants receive a finisher medal. Commemorative t-shirts are provided. The 5K is chip-timed. Awards are given for the top three male and female overall finishers, and for first place in 14 different age groups. After the race, food, drinks, and music are available. Free race photos are provided.
Logistics
Packet pickup occurs on race day at the pavilion in Walter Bradley Park. The Fastest Kid races are for students in kindergarten through 5th grade at Northside Elementary. Students registered for the 5K or 1 mile event can participate in these races for free. All Fastest Kid participants earn a participation medal.
