Event details
The Thoroughbred Trot 5K & Fun Run takes place on Sunday, April 19, 2026 in Midway, KY. The event is organized by Northside Elementary School PTO and includes the following distances and options:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- Fastest Kid at Northside Races
- Virtual Runner/Walker
- Race Volunteer
5K participants receive chip timing, a finishers medal, commemorative race T-shirts, and free race photos. 5K awards include Top 3 male and female overall plus 1st place male and female in 14 age groups: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75+.
Course and logistics
The start and finish are at Walter Bradley Park (399 Dudley Street). The 5K course runs on paved roadways - Dudley Street, Brand Street and East Stephens - in a long out-and-back configuration with an elevation change of 135 feet. There are two water stops on the course and no restrooms or portable toilets along the route. The Versailles Police Department will provide traffic safety support; motorists may still be encountered on parts of the course.
Packet pickup is held on race day at the pavilion at Walter Bradley Park. Fastest Kid races are limited to Northside Elementary students (kindergarten through 5th grade) and all participants in those races receive a participation medal.
