Texoma's Hellacious Obstacle Run (T.H.O.R.)
T.H.O.R. is an off-road obstacle race organized as a non-profit event to support local programs including Wichita Falls Streams & Valleys, Leadership Wichita Falls, and the Wichita Falls Police Officers Association. The course is situated in Lucy Park and follows the Wichita River, passing the Falls and traveling through Camp Fillers before returning to the park pavilion.
The event features a variety of terrains and challenges, including mud-riddled trails and approximately 20 obstacles. Participants are permitted to navigate the course at their own pace and may bypass any obstacles they do not wish to attempt. Medical staff are stationed on-site throughout the event.
Available distances and categories include:
- 5(ish) km trail run (Minimum age 13)
- Kids' course for ages 4-8
- Kids' course for ages 9-12
The event includes a competitive wave for the first heat, while subsequent waves are non-competitive and depart every 10 minutes. Registrants receive a swag bag and a custom finisher medal. The "THOR Village" serves as the central hub at the Lucy Park pavilion, featuring vendor booths, food, and beverages. A tram service is available to transport attendees between the parking areas and the start-finish line.
