Course and logistics

The course starts at Hesperus Church on Highway 140 and finishes at Ska Brewing, 225 Girard Street, Durango. The route runs through Wildcat Canyon and past Lake Nighthorse. The course has approximately 1,400 feet of net elevation loss and is mostly downhill. Aid stations are placed about every two miles beginning near mile 3; the station near mile 8 also offers bananas and snacks. Toilets are available at the start, on course near mile 5.4, and at Ska Brewing. The course runs on roads that remain open to vehicle traffic; law enforcement will manage key crossings. There is no parking at the start; buses transport participants from Ska Brewing to the start and a parking coordinator will direct drivers to nearby lots.

Finish, awards and Brewfest

Finish-line services include a finisher's mug and a complimentary Ska beer or nonalcoholic beverage, on-site results kiosk, and an awards ceremony recognizing top finishers in 14 age groups. The optional San Juan Brewfest at Buckley Park features samples from over 35 breweries and is a 21+ event; Brewfest tickets are non-transferable. Volunteers receive a race shirt, food and beer.
