TBK Bank Thirsty 13 Half Marathon
The TBK Bank Thirsty 13 Half Marathon is scheduled for August 29, 2026 in Durango, Colorado, with the finish area at Ska Brewing (225 Girard Street, Durango, CO 81301). The race is a point-to-point half marathon that starts at Hesperus Church on Highway 140 and finishes in the Ska Brewing beer garden.
The course runs through Wildcat Canyon and past Lake Nighthorse. It is mostly downhill with about 1,400 feet of elevation loss and has a reputation for being fast. In the event the primary course is unavailable, an alternate out-and-back course from Ska Brewing along La Posta Road and the Animas River may be used.
There are five aid stations spaced at roughly 2.5 mile intervals beginning near mile 3; stations provide water, PowerAde, first aid and volunteers, and the station near mile 8 also offers bananas and snacks. Toilets are available at the start, on course near mile 5.4, and at Ska Brewing. The course uses public roads that remain open to vehicle traffic; runners are asked to stay on the right shoulder. Law enforcement will manage traffic at the start and at the road crossing near mile 5.4.
Packet pickup is offered the day before at TBK Bank and on race morning at Ska Brewing. Drop bags can be transported from the start to the finish but should be marked and should not contain valuables. A time limit of 3 hours 30 minutes is in place; runners slower than that are asked to carry personal water and a cell phone. Finishers receive a commemorative mug and may fill it with a complimentary Ska beer or nonalcoholic beverage. Awards recognize top finishers in 14 age groups.
An optional post-race San Juan Brewfest features over 30 breweries, is restricted to ages 21 and older, and requires ID at entry. Brewfest tickets are nontransferable and may be added with registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
