Course and logistics

Both courses use natural singletrack and trail roads with a mix of rolling terrain, climbs, rocky sections, and historic sites. Key named sections include the Bluebird Trail and the Pocowanache Trail. The Bluebird Trail follows scenic forest paths and provides the finish for both courses. The Pocowanache Trail has steeper climbs, rocky terrain, and winding descents; it is included on the extended 10K route.

The 5K route begins on a gravel road, follows Remington Road and Shuler Woods Rd, passes Shelterwood Trail, crosses the Green Bridge, and continues onto the Aqueduct Trail into the Bluebird Trail to the finish. The 10K follows the 5K route and then continues up Remington Road onto the Pocowanache Trail before returning to the shared finish on the Bluebird Trail.

One aid station will be located at the Green Bridge for both distances. Parking is limited; carpooling is encouraged. Awards are given by gender for first place in age groups 14 and under, 15-19, then 10-year age groups up to 60+ for both distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
