Think Big Trail Challenge
The Think Big Trail Challenge is a trail running event on Williamsport Water Authority lands in South Williamsport, PA, at 1600 Mosquito Valley Rd. The event offers the following distances:
- 5K
- 10K
Both courses use a mix of gravel roads, singletrack, and historic trail sections. The 5K begins on a gravel road, follows Remington Road and Shuler Woods Road, climbs Shelterwood Trail, crosses the Green Bridge, then continues on the Aqueduct Trail into the Bluebird Trail, finishing near the Remington Ruins. The 10K follows the 5K route and extends onto the Pocowanache Trail, which includes a steeper ascent to a scenic vista before descending back to Remington Road and rejoining the 5K finish via the Green Bridge and Bluebird Trail.
Terrain includes smooth singletrack, rocky climbs, and flowing descents. One aid station is located at the Green Bridge for both distances. Awards are given to top male and female finishers in age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, then 10-year age groups up to 60+ for both races.
Logistics note that registration opens May 16 and closes on Sep 20 at 11:59PM ET. Both distances have a stated entry fee of $30. Race day registration will be available. Race swag is guaranteed for the first 200 registrants, and limited parking makes carpooling recommended.
Proceeds benefit the Think Big Pediatric Cancer Fund, which supports families affected by pediatric cancer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
