Think Big Trail Challenge
The Think Big Trail Challenge is a trail running event on October 4, 2026 in South Williamsport, PA, held on the Williamsport Water Authority trails near 1600 Mosquito Valley Road. The event offers two distances and staggered registration pricing with race day registration available. Registration closes September 20; race swag is guaranteed for the first 200 registrants.
- 5K Starts on a gravel road, follows Remington Road and Bluebird Trail to the finish.
- 10K Extends the 5K with Pocowanache Trail ascent and scenic vista return.
Course terrain includes smooth singletrack, rocky sections, rugged climbs, and fast flowing descents. The Pocowanache Trail features steeper climbs and winding descents, while the Bluebird Trail provides a forested, scenic finish and historic views. Both courses pass near the Remington Ruins and cross the Green Bridge.
There will be one aid station at the Green Bridge available to both 5K and 10K participants.
Awards will be given by gender and age: first place male and female in 15 and under, 16-19, then in 10-year age groups up to 60+ for both distances. Two special awards for the 15 and under 10K champions each include a commemorative award and a $100 cash prize.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Think Big Pediatric Cancer Fund. The event was formerly organized by the Salvation Army and is held on the trails at the Williamsport Water Authority. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
