Event Overview
The Frostbite 5-Mile Run and Penguin 5K Walk is a community sports event held in Duboistown, Pennsylvania. The primary goal of the event is to raise awareness and recruit volunteers for the Special Olympics Team Lycoming Susquehanna Valley Region. All proceeds from the run and walk directly benefit this organization. The event base is located at the Duboistown Fire Hall on Euclid Ave, with parking available at the fire hall and nearby bank parking lots.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5-Mile Run
- 3.1-Mile (5K) Walk
- 5-Mile Virtual Run
- 3.1-Mile (5K) Virtual Walk
The course features a mix of flat sections and gradual hill climbs during the first half of the race. The final 2.2 miles consist of flat and downhill sections. All in-person races are officially timed by Falcon Race Timing. Registered participants receive a long-sleeve tech shirt if they sign up before the early registration deadline.
The event includes awards for the top three overall male and female runners and the first overall male and female walkers. Age group awards are provided for runners in categories ranging from 14 and under to 70 and over, while walking age groups include 1-39, 40-59, and 60 and over.
