There Is A Will, There Is A Way 5K

There Is A Will, There Is A Way 5K is a community 5K run/walk held in Downers Grove, Illinois on September 5, 2026. The event takes place at 8554 Main Street with packet pickup and an awards ceremony at Brookeridge Main Street Park. The published course is to be announced.

The event offers both an in-person 5K and a Virtual 5K option that may be completed between September 5 and September 12, 2026. Virtual participants are instructed to record their activity using the ASICS Runkeeper app or to submit results manually; all registered participants will receive an official foundation race T-shirt by mail.

Registration fees are tiered for the in-person 5K and the virtual event. Early, mid, and late registration price points are listed, and the virtual entry is shown at one standard price. A Roots & Wings sponsorship level provides special recognition on the official race poster.

Proceeds support the foundation’s programs, including offsetting uniform costs for newly commissioned Marines and providing scholarships, grants, and other support for young people. Awards include top overall male and female trophies and age-group awards for 1st through 3rd place. Event policies note that dogs are not permitted on the course, jogging strollers must start toward the back, all participants must be registered and wear a race bib, and designated parking areas are provided with a recommendation to carpool.
