About the race
There Is A Will, There Is A Way 5K is a charity run and walk held in Downers Grove, Illinois on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The event offers in-person and virtual participation and supports the There Is A Will, There Is A Way Foundation. Funds raised help newly commissioned Marines by offsetting the cost of the uniforms required to begin their military careers. Distances - 5K Run/Walk in person - Virtual 5K Run/Walk September 5 to September 12, 2026 Packet pickup and registration take place at Brookeridge Main Street Park, with a pre-race packet pickup the day before the event.
The in-person course uses Washington Street and the West Taxiway for the start and finish. Parking is available in designated lots with a recommendation to use Prairieview Elementary School and to carpool when possible. Race rules note that dogs are not permitted on the course, jogging strollers are allowed but must start toward the back, and all participants on course must be registered and wear an official race bib. Virtual participants record their distance using the ASICS Runkeeper app or submit results manually between September 5 and September 12, 2026.
Awards include a Taxi Way Light trophy for top overall male and female finishers and custom challenge coins for first through third place in the listed age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
