Out of Eden 5K Yomp - Kirkby Stephen
The Out of Eden 5K Yomp is a community run at Stenkrith Park in Kirkby Stephen on 13 June 2027. The route covers 5 km and uses paths and short trail sections around the park and nearby landmarks.
The event begins with an energetic warm up at Basecamp and follows a route that crosses the Millennium Bridge over Stenkrith waterfall. The course also passes the Merrygill and Podgill viaducts, offering several notable local sights along the way.
The event is described as suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels, including people progressing from couch to 5k and those looking for a gentle run after other weekend activities. The route is not suitable for pushchairs.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a lead. Food, drink and music will be available at Basecamp before, during and after the run. The meeting area is at Basecamp on Station Road, Kirkby Stephen CA17 4SZ.
The event returns in 2027 with support from Out of Eden. All proceeds will be donated to the Northern Viaduct Trust, which maintains the local viaducts and walks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
