The Yomp - Out of Eden 5k
The Yomp - Out of Eden 5k is a low level, family friendly event on Sunday 14 June 2026 that forms part of the three day YOMP Mountain Challenge. The event supports fundraising for local good causes and is based at Basecamp at The Engine Shed in Kirkby Stephen.
The route passes Stenkrith Park and the Viaduct Walk, including the Millennium Bridge over Stenkrith waterfall and the Merrygill and Podgill viaducts. The course is described as suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels but is not suitable for pushchairs. Dogs are permitted on a lead.
Entry fee is £5 per person and under fives are free. Entries open and close through the online system, and entries are available on the day. Food, drink and music are available at Basecamp before, during and after the event.
The Out of Eden 5k takes place alongside other YOMP events across the weekend, including multi distance races on Saturday and additional activities such as a 25 metre abseil from Podgill Viaduct and camping for attendees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
