The Yomp - Super Saturday
The Yomp Super Saturday on 13 June 2026 is one day of a three day mountain running weekend held from Basecamp at The Engine Shed, Kirkby Stephen, with the main venue listed as Pennine View Park, CA17 4SZ. Four point-to-point and loop courses run across the fells of the Upper Eden and around Mallerstang in East Cumbria.
Event courses on Saturday include:
- ThruDark Ultra Yomp
- ThruDark Yomp Mountain Marathon (about 26 miles)
- JT Atkinsons 20k Yomp
- Aldersons 10k Yomp (11.2 km)
Age limits are set per course: the Ultra and Mountain Marathon require entrants to be 18 years or older; the 20k is 16 years or older; the 10k is open to ages 5 and above with under 16s required to be accompanied by an adult. Entries for the Saturday 10k and 20k are available on the day; some courses close earlier for entries.
The longer routes include way marking, marshals at key points and multiple feed stations; the Ultra and Mountain Yomp use GPS tracking for competitor safety and to allow progress to be followed. A compulsory kit check is part of the event for certain races. Weekend facilities include camping, catering, retail, live music and additional activities such as the Podgill Plunge abseil on Sunday.
