About the race
The Yomp - Super Saturday is part of a three day mountain running weekend in the Upper Eden valley around Kirkby Stephen and Mallerstang in East Cumbria, held on 12 June 2027. The event marks the 42nd running of the YOMP and supports local good causes. The weekend programme includes multiple events across three days: a Friday Sunset Stroll 10k guided jog or walk, a Saturday programme featuring an ultramarathon, a mountain marathon, a 20k and a 10k, and a Sunday low level 5k suitable for families and dogs. All events start and finish at Basecamp at The Engine Shed, Kirkby Stephen.
Camping is available for the weekend. Food, drink and live music are provided at Basecamp and retail stands and speakers are present across the weekend. The mountain marathon and ultramarathon routes cross fells such as Wild Boar Fell and Mallerstang and include marked routes, marshals at key points, and feed stations on longer courses. Competitors on several routes are GPS tracked for safety.
The ultramarathon and mountain marathon require registration and a compulsory kit check before racing. Entry fees vary by course, and some events allow entries on the day for the 10k and 20k. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
