The Yeti 100 Mile Endurance Run

The Yeti 100 Mile Endurance Run is a 100 mile trail race held in Abingdon, Virginia, with the start and finish at The Meadows on Cook Street. The course is USATF certified (VA19003MS) and is an official Western States qualifier. The organizer adjusted the route for the year because a trestle remains unrepaired; runners will encounter a small out and back through Damascus on their first pass to reach the full 100 mile distance. That bonus section is done only on the first pass.

Entry requires a recent long effort: completion of 50 miles on foot within 12 months, a 100 mile finish within the last two years, or registration for a planned qualifying 50 mile or 24 hour event. The race is cupless; runners must carry a reusable cup and other mandatory equipment, which includes at least 300 calories, 16 ounces of hydration capacity, a headlamp, a light jacket for overnight, and a collapsible cup for warm food.

Aid stations are crew accessible at designated locations and offer salty and sweet snacks, fresh seasonal fruit, a variety of drinks, soups including chicken noodle and vegan options, and hot items such as hamburgers and pierogi. Drop bags must be soft sided and liftable by one person with one hand. Pacers are permitted under specific rules starting at mile 52, with earlier allowance for runners aged 65 and over. The event publishes crew access points, shuttle information, and detailed course pages for planning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
