The Yeti 100 Mile Endurance Run
The 10th annual 100 mile Yeti Endurance Run takes place in October 2026 at The Meadows in Abingdon, Virginia. The race is an official Western States qualifier and follows a revised course this year after a trestle closure; organizers added a short out and back on the first pass through Damascus to preserve the full distance. That bonus section is run only on the first pass and is skipped on subsequent passes after the bib stamp.
Entry requires recent ultrarunning experience: completion of 50 miles on foot within 12 months of the race or a 100 mile finish within the past two years. The event notes options for qualifying through the Yeti Run Club.
Packet pickup is held at Sweetbay Brewing and includes race portraits with bib numbers; live runner tracking is available during the event. Course maps, aid station locations, crew access points, drop bag spots and the limited cutoffs can be viewed on Ultrapacer.
Mandatory gear includes a reusable cup, at least 300 calories of food, 16 ounces of hydration capacity, a headlamp, a light overnight jacket, and a collapsible cup for warm aid station food. Drop bags must be soft sided and liftable by one person and will be returned to the brewery after the race.
Pacers are allowed from mile 52, with earlier allowance for runners aged 65 and older. Shuttles for crew and pacers run between Abingdon and Damascus about every 45 minutes and after hours shuttles must be scheduled in advance. Aid stations offer savory and sweet snacks, drinks, fruit, soups and rotating hot items. The race enforces cupless rules and prohibits aid from moving vehicles or bikes, muling, leaving the course, storing supplies on the trail and littering. Runners are responsible for their crew and pacers and the event maintains a zero tolerance policy for performance enhancing drugs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
