The Wichita Mile
The Wichita Mile is a USATF-certified 1-mile road race held at Sims Park in Wichita, Kansas on November 14, 2026. The event includes several themed mile races under one umbrella, each listed as a separate 1-mile event: The Wichita Mile 4 Seasons Bundle, The Winter One, The Spring 1609, The Summer Switch Up, and The Fall 5280.
Most races are organized into start waves based on runners' estimated pace so athletes run with others of similar speed. The Summer Switch Up departs from that format by using weight-class waves; entrants choose a weight class during registration and there is a special award for winners of those waves.
The Fall 5280 entry window opens on October 29, 2025 and closes on November 13, 2026; the listed registration fee for that event is $30. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at Fartleks, 535 W Douglas Ave, Ste 170, with a designated pickup period.
