White Elephant 5K & 1 Mile - Fayetteville
The White Elephant event is a holiday road race and fun run held on the Fayetteville Square on Saturday, December 12, 2026. The event takes place on an open course using downtown Fayetteville streets and starts and finishes at the Mountain Street side of the Square.

- 5K road race (run/walk)
- 1 Mile fun run (run/walk)
The event features Lights of the Ozarks, holiday music, and a presence of Santa in the start/finish area. The 5K course is marked with orange arrow signs and white spray chalk, and organizers provide a lead bicycle, a sweep, and a water station near the halfway point. The course is not fully closed to traffic, so participants should use extra caution when running on or crossing streets.
Packet pick up is available the day before at the Fayetteville Parks office at 100 W Rock Street, Suite 250, and race day packet pick up is available at the Fayetteville Town Center at 15 W Mountain Street. Post-event celebrations and refreshments take place at the Town Center plaza and lobby.
All 5K finishers receive a finisher medal. Awards for the 5K are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to top age-group finishers. All 1 Mile participants receive a finisher item. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
