SDIA Turkey Trot for Heroes
The SDIA Turkey Trot for Heroes is held on Thanksgiving morning at the Center for Nonprofits, 1200 W. Walnut St, Rogers, AR. The event comprises in-person and virtual running options and supports the programs of Sheep Dog Impact Assistance.
Race formats and distances include:
- 5K
- 5K Wild Gobbler with five exercise stations along the route dedicated to Fallen Heroes
- 1-mile Fun Run/Walk
- Virtual 5K
Registration opens on August 14 and deadlines vary by event, with closing dates ranging from October 31 to November 30. Registration fees listed for the events include $35 for the 5K, $40 for the Wild Gobbler 5K, $20 for the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk, and $35 for the virtual 5K.
The event partners with the Rogers Fraternal Order of Police. Proceeds fund SDIA programs such as Outdoor Adventure, Warrior PATHH, and Continued Service/Disaster Response to help former service members reengage in active, meaningful lives.
New awards for the event include 1st through 3rd place awards for men and women in the Wild Gobbler, a Best Dressed award for individuals or groups in Thanksgiving costumes, and a Founders Favorite selected by the organizers.
