36th Annual 5K/10K The Westside Way
The 36th Annual 5K/10K The Westside Way is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026 at the Hare Pavilion, River Place on the Wilmington Riverfront. The race uses out-and-back courses that run along the Riverwalk and scenic wetland areas.

Online registration is available through race day. The event offers a competitive walking category that requires walking the entire course, a free children's 5K option for ages 9 and under, and a fundraising entry option labeled Become a Superhero and Fundraise for Westside. The event is held rain or shine and entry fees are nonrefundable. Pets are not allowed on the course.
There are multiple free parking lots available near the venue, including Barclays Parking Lot, Commonwealth Parking Lot, Riverfront Wilmington Commuter Lot K, and Delaware Technical & Community College Parking Lot #4. The first 175 registrants receive a commemorative long-sleeved T-shirt. An after party with snacks and beverages follows the race.
Awards for overall male and female finishers are scored by gun time; all other age group awards are scored by chip time. Age group awards are given in 10 year brackets from 13 and under through 70 plus. The top 20 non-timed runners under 10 receive a goodie bag. Electronic chip timing is provided by R2R Timing using the MYLAPS BibTag system. Results and race photos are posted online after the event.
