36th ANNUAL 5K/10K THE WESTSIDE WAY
The event is a community road running event held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Hare Pavilion on the Wilmington Riverfront. Courses run along the Riverwalk and scenic wetland areas and use out and back routes for the advertised distances. Distances offered include:
- 10 km
- 5 km
- Children's 5K (age 9 and under)
Online registration is available through race day. A competitive walking category for the 5K requires participants to walk the entire distance with no running or jogging permitted; participants who plan to run or mix run and walk must register in the 5K run/walk division. Children's 5K registration for ages 9 and under is free. The event is rain or shine and no refunds are given.
There are multiple free parking locations near the Riverfront, including Barclays Parking Lot at 100 West Street, Commonwealth Parking Lot at 300 Water Street, Riverfront Commuter Lot K, and Delaware Technical & Community College Lot #4. Check-in opens at 7:30 am.
Amenities include a commemorative long-sleeved T-shirt for the first 175 registrants and an after party with snacks and beverages. Timing is by chip using the MYLAPS BibTag system. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers by gun time and to age-group finishers by chip time; age groups are bracketed by 10 year ranges through 70+.
