36th Annual 5K/10K The Westside Way
The event is the 36th annual Westside Way running event held in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday, November 7, 2026. It is based at the Hare Pavilion on the Riverfront and the courses run along the Riverwalk and adjacent wetland areas using out-and-back routes. Registration is available online through race day. The event is organized rain or shine and there are no refunds.
Distances offered include:
- 5K run/walk
- 10K run/walk
- Competitive walking 5K (must walk entire race)
- Children's 5K (9 years and under, free)
Timing is conducted with chip timing using the MYLAPS BibTag system. Results will be posted online during and after the race. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to top three in 10-year age groups from 13 and under through 70+; awards use gun time for overall winners and chip (net) time for age groups. The top 20 non-timed runners under 10 receive goodie bags. Amenities include a commemorative long-sleeved T-shirt for the first 175 registrants and an after party with snacks and beverages. Pets are not allowed on the race course.
Multiple free parking lots are available on the Wilmington Riverfront and free street parking is commonly available on Saturdays. Fundraising supports Westside Family Healthcare. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
