The West End 8
The West End 8 is an officially measured one lap road race of 8 miles, held on Sunday 31 May 2026 as part of the Leicestershire Road Running League. The event is organised from Syston Rugby Club, Barkby Road, Queniborough, Leicestershire LE7 3FE, and takes place almost entirely on closed roads.
The race is chip timed and has a minimum age of 16. Entry fees listed are £17 for club runners and £19 for unattached runners, with the field capacity set at 800 places. Entries are initially reserved for league club members, with remaining places opened later and unsold places available on the day at registration before 9:15am.
Facilities include toilets and changing at the club house plus additional portaloos, a club bar and a tea, coffee and cake stall. Two drink stations are positioned along the route and water is supplied at the finish. Number collection is at registration, organised by club or by surname for unattached runners. Bag storage for unattached runners will be available at registration.
Parking is limited and temporary no parking restrictions will be enforced on nearby roads. Dogs are not permitted on the club grounds. Headphones including bone conduction devices are strictly prohibited and may lead to disqualification. Name changes are permitted through the entry system up to 23:59 on Tuesday 26 May.
