The Wessex 10k
The event is a 10 km road and country run that starts from Somerton Recreation Ground. The course drops down onto the Somerset Levels and follows old country droves with open views across the surrounding landscape before rejoining roads to return to the start.
A Sports Club bar will be open after the event, providing a place to gather and socialise and offering local cider. Finishers receive a bespoke metal finisher's medal.
Only bone conducting headphones are permitted during the run. In ear or other non bone conducting headphones are not allowed. The organisers will not accept responsibility if this rule is ignored, and runners seen wearing prohibited headphones will be disqualified.
Entry options distinguish between affiliated and unaffiliated runners. Affiliated entry requires membership of UKA, ARC, TRA or a similar running club. Unaffiliated entry is for runners who are not members of an affiliated club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
