Event overview
The Wearin' of the Green 5K Shamrock Run is a community 5K held on March 14, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The run begins and ends at Moreau Physical Therapy, 3129 Perkins Road, and follows the last mile of the Wearin' of the Green parade route. This is the seventh annual Shamrock Run. The race route has a reversed loop for 2026: runners head up Perkins Road, turn left on E Lakeshore Drive, loop toward Dalrymple, right on Magnolia Drive, then right on Perkins back to Moreau Physical Therapy.
Entry, logistics and rules
Registration is limited to 700 spots. Early fees start at $35 and registration fees increase on specified dates through March; registration closes on March 13, 2026. The event is open to ages 1 to 100. Registrants receive a customized bib with a timing chip and entrance to a post-race party behind Moreau Physical Therapy that includes food, beverage, and entertainment. The first 500 registrants receive event swag; the first 500 finishers receive a 2026 finisher medal. Awards are given to the top 10 male and top 10 female finishers. For safety and insurance reasons, baby joggers or strollers, dogs, and participants with leg or foot casts are not allowed; stragglers may be removed from the route to allow the parade to proceed. The race partners with Baton Rouge Green; funds raised from the 2026 race will support that organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
