The Wearin' of the Green 5K Shamrock Run is a community 5K held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The run takes place at Moreau Physical Therapy, 3129 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70808. This is the seventh annual Shamrock Run and it uses the final mile of the Wearin' of the Green St. Patrick's Day Parade route; the parade occurs later the same day. Funds raised from the 2026 race will support Baton Rouge Green, a local 501(c)(3) organization focused on tree planting, roadside groves, community greening and urban orchards.
Logistics, entries and rules
Registration is limited to 700 spots and includes a timing chip and a customized bib. Early registration fees begin at $35 with staged increases on specified dates. Packet pickup is available the day before at Baton Rouge Green and on race day behind Moreau Physical Therapy. The course route for 2026 will be reversed from prior years: Perkins Road, left on E Lakeshore Drive, loop toward Dalrymple, right on Magnolia Drive, then right on Perkins back to Moreau Physical Therapy. Race provisions include a post-race party with food, beverages and entertainment. The first 500 finishers receive a 2026 finisher medal; awards are given to the top 10 male and top 10 female finishers. Race rules prohibit baby joggers or strollers, dogs, and participants with leg or foot casts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
