Event overview
The Wearin' of the Green 5K Shamrock Run is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The event is a 5K road run that finishes at Moreau Physical Therapy, 3129 Perkins Road. It is the seventh annual Shamrock Run and takes place on the same day as the Wearin' of the Green St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Funds raised from the 2026 race will support Baton Rouge Green. The 2026 route will be reversed from previous years: runners will head up Perkins Road, turn left on E Lakeshore Drive, loop toward Dalrymple, turn right on Magnolia Drive, and return on Perkins to Moreau Physical Therapy.
Registration, logistics and rules
Registration is open to ages 1 through 100 and is limited to 700 spots. Early registration fees start at $35, with scheduled increases on January 1, February 1 and March 1, 2026; a higher fee applies the day before the race. Packet pickup is available on Friday, March 13 at Baton Rouge Green, 2241 Christian Street, and race-day pickup is available behind Moreau Physical Therapy. Registered participants receive a customized bib with a timing chip and access to a post-race party with food and entertainment. Up to 500 participants will receive a 2026 Shamrock Run finisher medal. Awards will be given to the top 10 male and top 10 female finishers. Race rules prohibit baby joggers or strollers, dogs in the race or start/finish area, and participants with leg or foot casts. Race fees are non-refundable and entries are non-transferable.
