The Wearin' of the Green 5K Shamrock Run
The Wearin' of the Green 5K Shamrock Run is a community running event held in Baton Rouge on March 13, 2027. The race covers 5K (3.1 miles) and follows the final mile of the city's historic St. Patrick's Day parade route. The start and finish are located at Moreau Physical Therapy, 3129 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.
The course moves up Perkins Road, turns left onto E Lakeshore Drive, loops toward Dalrymple, then continues via Magnolia Drive back to Perkins and returns to Moreau Physical Therapy. Packet pickup is available the day before at Baton Rouge Green, 2241 Christian Street, and on race day behind Moreau Physical Therapy.
Registration fees increase over time and the field is limited to 700 participants. Registered runners receive a customized bib with a timing chip; the first 500 registrants are eligible for event swag, and the first 500 finishers receive a 2027 Shamrock Run finisher medal. Awards are given to the top 10 male and top 10 female finishers. A post-race party behind Moreau Physical Therapy will include food, beverages, and entertainment.
Race rules prohibit baby joggers or strollers, dogs in the race or start/finish area, and participants with leg or foot casts. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
