Ryan's Run/Walk Race For Sickle Cell Disease
The Annual Ryan's Run/Walk takes place on August 29, 2026 at Galvez Plaza, 238 North Blvd #200, Baton Rouge, LA 70801. The event is organized to raise funds and awareness for individuals living with sickle cell disease.
Distances offered include:
- 1 Mile : runners and walkers; walkers are not timed.
- 5K (3.1 Miles) : runners and walkers; walkers are not timed.
- Virtual option for the 1 Mile or the 5K; participants may enter results online.
Registration fees vary by age group and registration date. For the 1 Mile the fees range from $25 to $40 depending on age and registration window; for the 5K fees range from $30 to $45. A virtual entry is listed at $35. Race-day registration and packet pickup are available; packet pickup is also scheduled the day before the event.
Runners are timed; walkers are recorded as untimed participants. The 5K uses multiple age divisions including 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. Awards include top overall male and female, top males and females by age group, and several fundraising recognitions such as top fundraising team, top fundraising individual, and categories for family, business, organization and school.
