About the race
The Wasatch Yard is a backyard ultra held in Round Valley, Park City, Utah. Runners repeat the same loop every hour until only one runner completes a lap that no one else finishes. The course uses a 4.167-mile loop that runs from Gillmor Way through gravel, greenway, and single-track. The format requires each lap to be completed within an hour; laps add up to 100 miles after 24 circuits.
The start and crew area are colocated at the line so crews can access runners between laps. The event includes running through the evening and into night, so headlamps and night running gear are part of race conditions. Prizes are awarded at milestone laps as well as to the final runners remaining. Organizing partners include local clubs and groups that support race logistics and milestone awards. Entry is offered on UltraSignup for a stated fee.
There is no scheduled finish time; the race continues until the last lap completed alone determines the winner. The format emphasizes repeated timed loops, brief crew interventions at the line, and cumulative lap counting rather than a fixed-distance finish.
