The Village Run in Ballylinan, Co. Laois
The Village Run is a road running event in Ballylinan, County Laois, held on Sunday 27th September 2026. Routes run from the village into the surrounding countryside and return to the event area at Ballylinan GAA Club.
Distances offered:
- 5k Start in the village centre, through meadows and quiet country roads.
- 10k Extends further into the countryside with rural landscape views.
- Half Marathon Longer route passing neighbouring villages with gentle hills.
- 3/4 Marathon 31.6 km route covering a wide circuit of local roads.
Course surface is paved roads. Terrain is described as very flat with minimal rolling hills. Scenery includes rural countryside, meadows, village streets, and woodland. Difficulty is described as easy to moderate.
Timing is provided by Pop UpRaces with professional chip timing. All finishers receive a medal and refreshments; the first 500 entrants receive a technical run cap as part of the finisher offering.
