The Verrazano 10K & 5K Races
The Verrazano 10K & 5K Races take place on April 5, 2026, at the American Veterans Memorial Pier on Shore Road in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY 11209. The event offers two distances:
- 5K
- 10K
The course runs along the Shore Road promenade. The 5K is one loop and the 10K is two loops with a U‑turn point approximately 1.55 miles from the start on each loop. Mile markers are placed for every mile. Water tables are set at three locations on the loop, providing water, electrolyte drinks, and gels. Liquids are served in cups.
There is a designated personal items area managed by volunteers for bag and coat storage. Parking is available on Shore Parkway. The promenade includes separate lanes for cyclists and pedestrians; participants and spectators must take care when crossing these lanes. Headphones are not allowed so participants remain aware of their surroundings.
Timing uses a chip system with timing mats on the course; split times are recorded each time a runner crosses a mat and results are uploaded live. Photographs and video are distributed after the event. Awards include finisher medals and technical shirts for participants, overall top three male and female awards, and age group awards by decade and youth categories.
