The Verrazano 10K & 5K Races
The event takes place in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn at the American Veterans Memorial Pier. Participants can choose between two distances: a 5K or a 10K. The course runs along the shore of New York Bay with views of the New York City skyline and the Verrazano Bridge. The course is a loop; the 5K is one loop and the 10K is two loops. The path is shared with cyclists, and spectators must be careful when crossing.
The start and finish line is at the American Veterans Memorial Pier. There is a marked course with mile markers. Water tables with electrolyte drinks, water, and gels are placed at three locations on the loop. A personal items area is available for participants to store their belongings. Parking is available on Shore Parkway.
All participants receive a finisher medal and a technical t-shirt. Post-race amenities include bagels. There is an awards ceremony for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as for age group winners. Live chip timing provides splits for each loop, with results available online.
