The Unforeseen : Charlotte, NC
The Unforeseen is a trail running event held at Reedy Creek Nature Preserve in Charlotte, NC, organized by Kingfisher Ultras. The event uses a 2.25-mile lap that combines flat gravel and single-track sections. The start and finish are located near the pavilion behind the nature center, and the course is marked with yellow arrows at each trail junction.
Distances
- Random distance race, total 4.5–27 miles.
- 6-Hour option, complete as many 2.25-mile laps as possible.
A dice roll 15 seconds before the race determines the random race distance. A GPX route file is available for the course. Packet pickup is scheduled before the event at the pavilion. The pavilion also serves as the aid station, offering snacks, jugs for refills, trash cans, and first aid support. Race photographs are provided for participants at no charge.
Bibs must be clearly visible so laps can be accounted for. The winner will receive a Damascus steel knife as a prize. The refund policy returns 100% within 90 days, 50% within 30 days, and no refunds within 10 days; if the race is canceled, entrants are offered a free future race instead of a refund.
