The Trail That Can't Be Concord
The Trail That Can't Be Concord takes place at Concord Park on Northshore Drive in Knoxville, Tennessee. This event offers three distinct distance options for participants, featuring trails within the park system. The course consists of a 10-kilometer loop that runners navigate based on their chosen distance.
Available distances include:
- 20 km (consisting of two laps of the course)
- 10 km (consisting of one lap of the course)
- 1 mile (a hilly out and back trail for children)
The course is described as having varied terrain and natural obstacles. For safety reasons, the event enforces a minimum pace of 18 minutes per mile. Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult if they are competing in the 10 km or 20 km events.
There is at least one aid station provided on the course. This station provides small cups, though runners are encouraged to carry their own hydration containers. Participants are also advised to prepare with off-road training prior to the event. Due to insurance and safety regulations, the use of headphones, bicycles, strollers, and pets is not permitted on the course. Parking is located near the roundabout junction of Northshore Drive and Campbell Station Road. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
