Trail Running Series (Victoria)
The Trail Running Series consists of three separate events held in wilderness locations within 90 minutes of Melbourne. Now in its 16th year, the series takes place during the winter months, offering participants various distances through different Victorian landscapes. Each event features an event village with live music, food trucks, and coffee.
The series includes three distinct races:
- Race 1 at Blackwood (Lerderderg State Park) involves courses through river valleys and eucalypt forests with distances of 7.9 km, 15.8 km, and 22 km.
- Race 2 at Anglesea (Surf Coast) features coastal heathland and cliff-top trails with options for 4 km, 8 km, 16 km, and 27.6 km.
- Race 3 at Silvan (Dandenong Ranges) passes through fern gullies and mountain ash forests, offering distances of 7.2 km, 15 km, and 22 km.
The third race in the series at Silvan utilizes a unique handicap format. Runners can enter individual races or the entire series. Participants who enter all three races as part of a specific package receive a limited edition beanie and a dedicated race plate. Courses are fully marked and supported, and the events allow for walking on sections of the trails. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
