The Trail Running Series (Victoria)
The Trail Running Series is a winter series of three trail races in Victoria held across three Sundays in 2026. The series marks its 16th year and stages events at Blackwood, Anglesea and Silvan, each on distinct terrain and in different wilderness settings.
Race locations and character:
- Blackwood - Lerderderg State Park: ancient river valleys, towering eucalypts and creek crossings.
- Anglesea - Surf Coast: coastal heathland and cliff-top trails.
- Silvan - Dandenong Ranges: fern gullies, mountain ash and misty ridgelines.
Distances vary by race, with multiple course options ranging from short to long. Examples of offered distances include:
- Blackwood: 7.9km, 15.8km, 22km
- Anglesea: 4km, 8km, 16km, 27.6km
- Silvan: 7.2km, 15km, 22km
Most venues are within about 90 minutes of Melbourne, with Silvan listed at about 60 minutes. Race day features listed by the organiser include live music, barista coffee, food trucks and a sociable finish-line atmosphere. Race 3 at Silvan uses a handicap format intended to bring competitors together on course. Entry prices start from $57 per race and early bird pricing is noted to end 1 April. A Gold Runner package is offered for those who enter all three races and includes a 10 percent discount across the three entries, a limited-edition beanie for the first 350 Gold Runners and an exclusive race plate posted before Race 1.
