The Trail Running Series (Victoria)
The Trail Running Series is a winter series of three trail races held in Victoria in 2026. The series is in its 16th year and takes place on three Sundays at different wilderness locations near Melbourne.
Race dates and locations are: Race 1 : 31 May 2026 at Blackwood, Lerderderg State Park. Race 2 : 5 July 2026 at Anglesea, Surf Coast. Race 3 : 2 August 2026 at Silvan, Dandenong Ranges.
Distances offered at each race:
- Blackwood (Lerderderg State Park): 7.9 km, 15.8 km, 22 km
- Anglesea (Surf Coast): 4 km, 8 km, 16 km, 27.6 km
- Silvan (Dandenong Ranges): 7.2 km, 15 km, 22 km
Routes run through river valleys, eucalypt forest, coastal heathland and fern gullies. The Silvan event uses a handicap format intended to keep competitors together on course. Race day features listed for the series include live music, barista coffee, and food trucks, and the atmosphere is described as social and celebratory.
Entry details published for 2026 include prices from $57 per race and an early bird pricing deadline of 1 April. A Gold Runner package is offered for entry to all three races and includes a 10 percent discount on all three entries and a limited edition beanie for the first 350 Gold Runners to collect at Race 1.
