The MTC Thames Challenge

The MTC Thames Challenge is a four-day ultra endurance event from August 6–9, 2026, starting at Kemble Station in the Cotswolds (GL7 6AW). The 184-mile course unfolds across four stages, featuring four unique Ultra events: The Cotswold Ultra, The Oxford Ultra, The Windsor Ultra, and The Richmond Ultra. Competitors must be self-sufficient, carrying mandatory gear such as a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, OS map or downloadable maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, and a first aid kit.

As the sister event to The Severn Challenge, Thames Challenge offers Notorious Challenger Series qualification for finishers, delivering a demanding, self-supported trek through England’s Thames region. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
