The MTC Thames Challenge 2026

The MTC Thames Challenge is a four day endurance race covering 184 miles. It takes place from 6 to 9 August 2026 and uses Kemble Station, Cotswolds GL7 6AW as its event location. Entries for the event are closed.

The course is organised as four stages over four days. Within those stages are several named races: The Cotswold Ultra, The Oxford Ultra, The Windsor Ultra, and The Richmond Ultra. Competitors who complete the Thames Challenge meet the entry criteria to enter Notorious, which serves as the conclusion to the Challenger Series.

Participants must be self sufficient and carry a set of mandatory items. Required equipment includes a backpack or equivalent, a head torch with spare batteries, an Ordnance Survey map or the organiser’s downloadable maps, a compass or GPS device, a whistle, a mobile phone, and a first aid kit.

The event is presented by Ultra Running. The Full Thames Challenge entry price is listed at £595. The description focuses on event structure, distance, mandatory equipment, and how completion relates to the wider Challenger Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
