The Tail Chaser, Caledon ON
The Tail Chaser is a loop-format running event held at Albion Hills Conservation Area in Caledon, ON. The event offers multiple formats including solo and relay options and shorter timed events.
Race formats
- 24-hour solo
- 24-hour relay 2 person
- 12-hour
- 6-hour
The course uses two distinct 6.7 km loops arranged in a washing-machine pattern, alternating direction each round. Each loop has roughly 150 m of elevation and a mix of single-track, double-track, roots, pine-needle paths, and hard-packed dirt. Every loop starts at the top of the hour; runners must cross the finish line and be inside the corral before the next hour begins to continue.
Rules and scoring All formats follow the same loop rules. In the relay, partners alternate loops and the team score equals the total units completed by both runners. Ties are broken by fastest cumulative lap times.
Support and logistics There is one aid station at the start/finish with water and Skratch Labs in coolers and hot food later. Crews and pacers are not allowed on the loop; crew access is limited to the start/finish area. Race kit pick up is available at the chalet the day before and on the morning of the event. Limited camping is bookable through the park, with fees roughly $50 per night. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
