Island Lake Classic
The Island Lake Classic is a community road and trail event held at Island Lake Conservation Area in Orangeville. The event offers multiple distances and uses groomed trails and the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail with several bridge crossings that showcase the park's natural scenery.
Distances include:
- 10K around the lake on the Vicki Barron Trail with several bridge crossings.
- 5K route through the Sugar Bush with roller‑coaster single track and fast, flat double track.
- Kids Run
The 10K follows the lakeside trail and rejoins the 5K route through the Sugar Bush. The 5K includes single‑track sections, double‑track sections, slopes and forest views. Admission to the park is free for participants and volunteers.
Timing is electronic; the event is chip timed by Enfield Timing. Every finisher receives a medal and a winter buff. Overall male and female top three finishers in each event are acknowledged on a podium with local sponsor gifts, and age group finishers receive a token and a podium photo opportunity.
