The Swissvale Mile

The Swissvale Mile is a community event held at Dickson Prep STEAM Academy in Pittsburgh, PA on October 24, 2026. The event is organized entirely by volunteers and funded by registrations, sponsorships, and donations. It offers options for a timed one mile run and a dog friendly family walk.

Registration opens July 11, 2026 and closes August 31, 2026. Standard fees are $20 for the timed run and $15 for the walk. Kids under 18 register for $10 and age based pricing will be adjusted at checkout. The run is professionally timed; the walk is not timed.

Proceeds support local programs and organizations. Since its founding in 2014 the mile has directed funds to causes such as the Woodland Hills Chromebook Fund, the Swissvale Orioles Baseball and Softball Association, the Swissvale Community Enrichment Fund, Swissvale K-9 Officers, and the Swissvale Juneteenth Celebration. For the fourth year the event is partnering with Swissvale Rotary to extend local impact; the Rotary supports the Carnegie Free Library of Swissvale, the Swissvale Senior Center and Community Days among other local efforts.
