The Sunglasses Run 5K
The Sunglasses Run 5K takes place at Des Moines Water Works Park, beginning at the Lauridsen Amphitheater and following a scenic route around Gray's Lake. The event program includes an in-person 5K run/walk, a kids fun run with distance and heat variations based on age, and a virtual 5K option.

All in-person 5K participants receive a finisher medal and a pair of Goodr sunglasses. Sunglasses are selected at packet pickup from a larger selection on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants may opt out of the sunglasses and save $12 on registration. An event shirt can be added for $10.
Registration opens June 16. In-person registration closes July 1. Virtual registration closes August 1. Stated registration fees are $35 for the in-person 5K, $12 for the kids run, and $48 for the virtual 5K.
