Summer Ready Run
Summer Ready Run is a lapped running event held at Ferry Meadows country park near Peterborough. The course uses a 5.3 km loop through forest with gravel footpaths and some grass areas, creating a multi terrain route. Ferry Meadows is located less than three miles from Peterborough city centre.
The event is offered in multi hour formats and participants run as far as they wish within the event time. Runners may rest between laps and return to the course when ready. A heavy half marathon is defined as five laps with the option to increase to six or seven laps on the day. An ultra marathon is defined as nine laps with the option to increase, for example up to twelve laps if time allows.
Race HQ and the lap point are at the start area where an aid station is available each lap. Registration and bib collection are located beside the main toilet block near the start arch and gazebos; parking at the park is chargeable. The organisers recommend road trainers but note trail shoes may be useful depending on recent weather. The event is cupless so runners should bring their own bottle or cup for refilling.
Finishers receive a bespoke event medal unless another finisher medal option was selected. Virtual entries are available for those who want a medal but cannot attend in person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
