Event Overview
The Summer Ready Run returns to Ferry Meadows, a large country park located less than three miles from Peterborough City Centre within Nene Park. The event is held on a 5.3 km lap course that traverses varied landscapes, including forest areas, gravel footpaths, and grass sections. As a multi-terrain course, road trainers are generally suitable, though trail shoes may be used depending on weather conditions.
Participants can choose between a 6-hour or a 4-hour time limit. The format allows individuals to run as many or as few laps as they wish within their allotted time. Runners may rest between laps at the Base Camp and continue afterward. If a participant leaves the Base Camp before the time limit expires, they are permitted to complete one final lap.
The event supports a wide range of distances, including:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon (typically 5 laps)
- Full Marathon
- Ultra Marathon (typically 9 laps or more)
Logistics and Facilities
The Race HQ and Base Camp are located near the main toilet block and parking area. An aid station providing water and refreshments is situated at the start and lap point. This is a cupless event, so participants are required to bring their own bottles or cups for refilling.
Chargeable parking is available on-site at Ferry Meadows. Registration takes place at the event gazebos, where participants collect their bib numbers. Upon finishing, runners receive a medal, with options for either a bespoke event-specific medal or a non-specific finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
