Event

The Summer Ready Run takes place on 5 July 2026 and is organised by Zig Zag Running at Ferry Meadows, Ham Lane, Peterborough, PE2 5UU. The event offers two start options that provide either a six-hour or a four-hour running period. The course is a multi-terrain loop of 5.3 km made up of gravel footpaths and some grass areas. Runners complete repeated laps and may stop or rest between laps. Standard lap counts given as examples include five laps for a half marathon and nine laps for a marathon-distance ultra, with options to increase laps on the day.

Location and course

Ferry Meadows is a country park in Nene Park, around three miles from Peterborough city centre. Race HQ and the base camp are located at the start and lap point, with an aid station available at that location for every lap. The terrain is mainly park footpaths and grass; road trainers are suggested, with trail shoes optional depending on prior weather.

Practical information

Maximum entrants: 300. Entries close 04/07/2026. Minimum age: 18 on the event date. Parking at the venue is chargeable. A bag-drop area will be available but items are left at the runner’s own risk. The event is cupless; runners should bring their own bottle or cup for refilling. A bespoke event medal is supplied at the finish unless the non-specific finisher medal option is chosen.
