The Stur Half
The Stur Half is a road race organised by the Dorset Doddlers and scheduled for Sunday 2nd August 2026. The event runs on rural roads in and around Sturminster Newton and has been held since 1990. It is listed as a Dorset Road Race League event and is organised in accordance with UK Athletics rules; permit number is to be announced. Entry information is published for both races. Entry fees for the half marathon are £23 affiliated and £25 unaffiliated; the 5 km entry fee is £7 for all runners. Online entries close at 12 noon on Saturday 1st August and places may be available for entry on the day if spots remain. A registrations list is maintained for entrants.
The race is sponsored by Honeybuns Bakery and supported by local businesses including Harts of Stur, Symonds and Sampson, and Root and Vine. On-course support includes water stations and marshals. While the main races take place, children’s races are held on the school field.
