Event overview
WRNL 12 takes place in Corfe Mullen and uses a map of the streets and parks around the Dorset Soldier pub. The event is a 60 minute straight score format. SIAC enabled SportIdent control stations are used and controls are mounted on small O kites. The map is 1:5000, overprinted with control codes and score values; control descriptions are printed on the map and loose descriptions will be available.
Entry, fees and practical info
Entry capacity is listed as 60. Entry fees are: Senior £7.00, Senior chip hire £1.00. Junior entry is free; junior chip hire £0.00. Juniors are defined as under 21 on 31st December. Full credit withdrawals are available until the night before the event. Dibber (SI Card 5) hire is available for £1. Printed score showing splits will be provided at download and results will be published online after the event.
Course, scoring and safety
Competitors have 60 minutes to visit as many controls as possible. Points per control vary and may range from 10 to 50; a penalty of 10 points is applied for each minute or part minute over the hour. Bonus points are available only to those who visit every control. Terrain includes streets, parks and some areas of heath; competitors should take care when crossing roads, especially the Wareham Road. All under‑16s must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must wear high‑visibility clothing and carry a torch.
Venue and facilities
The event centre is the Dorset Soldier pub. Free parking is available at the venue and in surrounding streets. Food can be ordered on the night; the pub menu is available on the pub's website.
