The Strawberry Solstice Run
The Driftless Trail Collective will hold the third annual Strawberry Solstice Run on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Millville Bridle Unit near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The event uses the Millville Bridle Unit parking lot as race headquarters and the single on-course aid location.
The event is a 10-hour overnight timed course composed of a 5.25-mile loop repeated as many times as each runner completes within the time limit. The course follows trails with the region's typical Driftless Area elevation changes and includes one notably steep climb near the start. Organizers plan to place lights on that climb for safety.
The event limits registration to 75 entrants. Organizers charge a modest fee to cover permitting, food, and event needs and suggest an additional donation to support the Driftless Area Land Conservancy. Packet pickup and pre-race announcements occur at the Millville Bridle Unit prior to the start.
Aid station provisions reflect traditional race fare: water, soda, peanut butter and jelly, fruit, salty snacks, and candy. The event is scheduled to take place in most conditions; organizers reserve the right to modify or cancel the event for trail conditions, natural disasters, severe weather, pandemic concerns, or at the request of the Wisconsin DNR or local officials.
