The Strawberry Solstice Run
The Driftless Trail Collective plans to hold the third annual Strawberry Solstice Run at the Millville Bridle Unit in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The event is a 10-hour overnight timed course run on a 5.25-mile loop and is limited to 75 registrants. A modest fee is collected to cover permitting, food, and event needs, and an additional donation to the Driftless Area Land Conservancy is suggested.
The parking lot at Millville serves as race headquarters and the sole aid station. Packets are distributed and announcements are made on the evening of the event. There is one porta-potty on the course.
Aid station fare includes water, soda, peanut butter and jelly, fruit, salty snacks, and candy. The course follows local Driftless Area trails and elevation; there is one particularly punchy climb near the start where organizers plan to place lights for safety.
The event is scheduled to take place rain, snow, or shine. Organizers reserve the right to modify or cancel the event for trail conditions, natural disasters, weather, pandemic concerns, or at the request of the Wisconsin DNR or local officials.
