The Stephen Williams 10K, Thurston : 10 May 2026
The event is a 10 kilometre road race held in Thurston and forms part of the Suffolk Grand Prix series. The race is organised by Saint Edmund Pacers and is held in honour of the club's former chairman. Net proceeds after event costs will be donated to the nominated charity, Cystic Fibrosis.
The event uses chip timing and live results. Race headquarters is at Thurston Rugby Union Football Club, Robinson Field, Ixworth Road, Thurston, Bury St Edmunds IP31 3QE, with the start and finish located at the same venue. Race numbers and timing chips are available for collection on race day. A £2 discount is applied for participants affiliated to England Athletics with a URN entered.
Safety and race operation notes include a two hour cut-off from the start, after which marshals and support vehicles will no longer be available. Personal audio devices and earphones of any description are not permitted during the race. One water station is provided on course and additional water will be available at the finish; competitors are encouraged to carry their own water.
Facilities at Race HQ include a help desk, toilets with a wheelchair accessible toilet, and refreshments. Car parking is available at Race HQ and no separate baggage area will be provided.
