The Squirrel Scramble at Querbes Park (5K & Fun Run)
The event takes place on June 13, 2026 at Querbes Park in Shreveport, Louisiana, on the park grounds at 3500 Beverly Place. The Querbes Park Foundation organizes the event in partnership with Shreveport Parks and Recreation. The park has been a local landmark since 1924, and this is only the second time in over 100 years that the fairways have been opened for a run or walk.
The course is described as predominantly flat and easy, meandering along paths and fairways beneath the park's large oak trees. Participants in different age groups and formats are included.
Distances:
- 5K : 3.1 miles
- Fun Run Kids 12 and under : 0.5 miles
- Fun Run 13 and up : 0.5 miles
- Ainsley's Riders Only : 3.1 miles
Registration fees are listed per event: the 5K fee is $25, the Fun Run for kids is $15, the Fun Run for ages 13 and up is $25, and Ainsley's Riders Only is free. All participants will receive a T-shirt and a finisher's medal at the finish line. Door prizes, breakfast items including "Squirrel Bait," and beverages such as soft drinks, water, and beer will be available.
