The Squirrel Scramble at Querbes Park (5K & Fun Run)
The Squirrel Scramble at Querbes Park takes place on June 13, 2026, at Querbes Park, 3500 Beverly Place, Shreveport, LA 71104. The event is organized by the Querbes Park Foundation in partnership with Shreveport Parks and Recreation.
Distances offered include:
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- Fun Run Kids 12 & Under, 0.5 Miles
- Fun Run 13 & Up, 0.5 Miles
This is the second time in over 100 years that the park has opened its fairways for a run or walk. The course is described as predominantly flat and easy, meandering along the park's paths and fairways beneath the park’s large oak trees and across century-old grounds that have been part of the site since 1924.
Amenities listed for participants include door prizes, breakfast, a feature called Squirrel Bait, and beverages including soft drinks, water, and beer. All participants receive a T-shirt and a finisher's medal at the finish line. The event welcomes runners, walkers, and those pushing strollers. Proceeds from the event benefit the Querbes Park Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and enhancing the park and surrounding streets and neighborhoods.
