About the race

The Silkin Way Ultra (and half) is the 11th running of an off road route in and around Telford, scheduled for Saturday 27 March 2027. The route crosses Telford from the south side by the River Severn to Bratton, then returns through Telford before heading west towards Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge. The course takes in the Gorge and includes both trail and some road sections.

Aid stations are located at about 6 miles, 13.1 miles and 20 miles and offer drinks and food. Course wayfinding includes a map, downloadable GPX, chalk arrows and council way markers. Race headquarters is at The Unicorn Inn, Holly Road, Little Dawley, Telford, TF4 3HZ. Entry prices listed range from £37 for the half marathon to £48 for the ultra.

The event is organised by How Hard Can It Be Events. Past participant feedback notes scenic sections around Ironbridge, a friendly and laidback atmosphere, and that some navigation is required in places but GPX and route markings are provided.
