The Shimmy in Shickshinny 1/2 and 1/4 Marathon
The event takes place Saturday August 8, 2026, in Shickshinny, Pennsylvania, along the Susquehanna Warrior Trail on the west bank of the Susquehanna River. The route is an out and back on hard-packed dirt and gravel with a total elevation gain and loss of 11 feet. Approximately 90% of the trail is shaded.

- Quarter Marathon (the quarter follows the first half of the half marathon course)
Facilities and services include porta potties at the start and along the course, water stations roughly every 2 miles, and on site packet pickup beginning at 6:30 AM. There is parking near the start in nearby lots and along the street. Participants receive a race themed T shirt while supplies last and a unique finisher medal.
Additional notes: dogs are allowed but must be leashed in accordance with Pennsylvania law; organizers discourage running with dogs for safety reasons. Strollers are not permitted on the trail. A portion of proceeds and all donations support the Susquehanna Warrior Trail. Awards include plaques for the top three male and female overall, top three male and female masters for the half, and top three male and female in multiple age groups.
