WVS Winter's End 4.5 Mile Run
The Wyoming Valley Striders present the 45th annual Winter's End 4.5 Mile Run on March 22, 2026. The event is a chip timed road race that starts and finishes at the Penn State University Wilkes-Barre Campus in Dallas, PA. The course covers a 4.5 mile route through scenic rolling hills in the Lehman area near Penn State, Wilkes-Barre.
Runners must pre-register online; race day entries will not be accepted. Online registration closes March 20, 2026. Pre-entry fees are WVS members $20 and non-members $25, with fees increasing after February 28, 2026. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. WVS membership is available online for $12 and can affect the entry fee.
Pre-entry packet pick-up takes place on campus and registered runners will receive a commemorative gift to be determined. Awards will be given to the top male and female overall and to the top three males and top three females in each age group, with age groups ranging from 19 and under through 70 and over.
The race is open to anyone. Animals, baby strollers of any type, and alcoholic beverages are not permitted on campus. Spectators should note that roads along the course are narrow and spectator vehicles are not allowed on the course; viewing is available at the start and finish areas, parking lots, and the turnaround point near Lake Lehman High School.
