Event overview
The Wyoming Valley Striders 45th Annual WVS Winter's End 4.5 Mile Run is scheduled for March 22, 2026 in Dallas, Pennsylvania. The event starts and finishes at the Penn State University Wilkes-Barre Campus in Lehman. The course is a rolling-hills, 4.5-mile route in the Lehman area near the campus.
Race details and registration
- Distance: 4.5 miles
The race will be chip timed. Runners must pre-register online; race day entries will not be accepted. The listed pre-entry fee is WVS members $20 and non-members $25, with a later fee increase shown as WVS members $25 and non-members $30. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Pre-entry packet pick-up is at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Commons on campus. The first 200 entrants receive a commemorative reversible runners' hat (50th Anniversary edition).
Awards, safety and spectator info
50th Anniversary medals will be awarded to the top male and female overall and to the top three males and top three females in each age group. Age groups are listed from 19 & under through 70 & over. Runners may not be accompanied by animals; baby strollers are not permitted; alcoholic beverages are not allowed on campus. Roads are narrow and no spectator vehicles are allowed on the course. Spectators may view the race from the start/finish area, parking lots, and the turnaround near the intersection by Lake Lehman High School.
The race is part of the Wyoming Valley Striders Vince Wojnar Triple Crown series. Course records at the campus location include times of 22:44 (1987) and 25:43 (2016). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
