The Shady City Race
The third annual Shady City Race takes place on the Jim Simmons Memorial Trail at Millcreek Park in Marysville, Ohio. The event is run on a tree lined, chip timed, paved trail and includes separate races for adults and children.
Distances offered:
- Leafy Loop 5K
- Tree Line Trek 10K
- Sapling Dash Kids Run about 0.25 miles out and back
Entry fees vary by event and registration date, with typical adult fees listed between $30 and $45. The kids race fee is $15 and includes a t shirt but not a medal. Race registrations are non refundable and non transferable. SWAG and awards information are listed as coming soon.
A portion of the event proceeds supports Blessings in a Backpack. The donation page directs 100 percent of its proceeds to that program. Blessings in a Backpack in Marysville provides non perishable food each week during the school year. The program serves five elementary schools Edgewood, Mill Valley, Navin, Northwood, and Raymond and Creekview Intermediate School. Each weekend bag generally includes at minimum two breakfast items two entree or protein items and two healthy snacks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
