The Shady City Race
The Shady City Race is the third annual trail event held on August 29, 2026, at Millcreek Park in Marysville, Ohio. The event takes place on the Jim Simmons Memorial Trail, described as a tree-lined, paved trail, and is chip timed. Race entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Distances offered:
- Leafy Loop 5K
- Tree Line Trek 10K
- Sapling Dash Kids Run (about 0.25 miles, out-and-back)
Entry fees vary by registration period. General adult pricing ranges from USD 30 to USD 45 depending on date and distance; the kids race fee is USD 15 and includes a t-shirt but no medal. The event listing notes awards and SWAG as coming soon.
A portion of race proceeds supports the local Blessings in a Backpack program. The event page specifies that 100 percent of funds collected through the event donation page go to that program. Blessings in a Backpack in Marysville provides weekly non-perishable food during the school year, serving five elementary schools plus Creekview Intermediate School and the Mini Monarch Academy. Each bag includes at minimum two breakfast items, two entree or protein items, and two healthy snacks, with extra items for long weekends and extended breaks.
