The SAX 4 Miler
The SAX 4 Miler takes place on September 19, 2026 at SAX Headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey. The event marks its 15th consecutive year and offers both in-person and a new virtual participation option. It benefits the Child Life Department at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ; SAX covers event costs so 100% of funds raised support hospital programs.
Event formats include a USATF certified double-loop 4 mile course, a walk option, and multiple kids dashes. Registration opens June 1, 2026. Most in-person and virtual events have a registration fee of $25; kids races have a fee of $10. Bib and t-shirt pick up is available the day before and on race day at SAX Headquarters.
Fundraising supports therapies and services provided by the Child Life Department, including art therapy, music therapy, animal-assisted therapy, horticultural therapy, and therapeutic play. Awards are presented for the 4 mile run by overall male and female places one through three, plus age group awards in ten-year bands from 19 and under through 70 and over. Amenities noted by the organizer include technical t-shirts for pre-registrants while supplies last, refreshments, kids activities, DJ entertainment, awards, and random prizes.
