The Rubicon

The Rubicon

The Rubicon is a very difficult and remote on and off trail foot race held in the backcountry of the northwestern Sierra Nevada near Oxbow Reservoir, California. It is organized as an unofficial fatass, described as a glorified group run. The organizer states there will be no course markings, no aid stations, no staff, and no medical team.

Route options are provided with approximate distances, total elevation gain, hill climbs, and water crossings:

• The Requisite: 15+ miles, approx 6,700 ft gain, 3 hill climbs, 2 water crossings
• The Resonant: 30+ miles, approx 12,700 ft gain, 6 hill climbs, 6 water crossings
• The Revenant: 43+ miles, approx 19,300 ft gain, 8 hill climbs, 8 water crossings

Completion requirements are sequential: finish The Requisite before attempting The Resonant in a future year, and finish The Resonant before attempting The Revenant in a future year.
