The Rubicon

The Rubicon is a remote, on- and off-trail foot race in the backcountry near Oxbow Reservoir, CA, in the northwestern Sierra Nevada. The organizer is Skybreaker Racing. The event is described as very difficult and participants are warned it should not be taken lightly.

This is not presented as an official race. The event is a fatass-style group run with no course markings, no aid stations, no staff, and no medical team. The route runs through remote terrain and includes multiple hill climbs and water crossings.

Route options:

• The Requisite: 15+ miles, ≈6,700 ft gain, 3 hill climbs, 2 water crossings
• The Resonant: 30+ miles, ≈12,700 ft gain, 6 hill climbs, 6 water crossings
• The Revenant: 43+ miles, ≈19,300 ft gain, 8 hill climbs, 8 water crossings

Progression rules require completion of The Requisite before eligibility to attempt The Resonant, and completion of The Resonant before eligibility to attempt The Revenant.
