The Rubicon

The Rubicon

The Rubicon is scheduled for October 24, 2026 near Oxbow Reservoir, CA, and is organized by Skybreaker Racing. It is presented as an informal fatass style group run rather than an official race and takes place in remote, on and off trail backcountry of the northwestern Sierra Nevada.

There are no course markings, no aid stations, no event staff, and no medical team. The route choices vary in distance, elevation gain, number of hill climbs, and number of water crossings:

• The Requisite: 15+ miles, ≈6,700 ft gain, 3 hill climbs, 2 water crossings
• The Resonant: 30+ miles, ≈12,700 ft gain, 6 hill climbs, 6 water crossings
• The Revenant: 43+ miles, ≈19,300 ft gain, 8 hill climbs, 8 water crossings

Completion rules apply for eligibility on longer routes: finish of The Requisite is required before attempting The Resonant in the future, and finish of The Resonant is required before attempting The Revenant in the future.
