The Rubicon

The Rubicon

The Rubicon is a remote, on and off-trail foot race held in the backcountry of the northwestern Sierra Nevada near Oxbow Reservoir, CA. The event is described by organizers as an unofficial fatass group run; there are no course markings, no aid stations, no staff, and no medical team.

Route options include:

• The Requisite 15+ miles ≈6,700 ft gain 3 climbs 2 water crossings
• The Resonant 30+ miles ≈12,700 ft gain 6 climbs 6 water crossings
• The Revenant 43+ miles ≈19,300 ft gain 8 climbs 8 water crossings

Eligibility rules restrict attempts: completion of The Requisite is required before attempting The Resonant, and completion of The Resonant is required before attempting The Revenant. Organizers state the undertaking should not be taken lightly and that the route will test participants' limits. Registration closes Thu, Oct 22.
