Resolve2Run - 5K/10K Run and Walk
Resolve2Run is an annual run and walk held on New Year’s Day that begins at Chicago Park School and follows scenic areas of Nevada County. The event offers two distance options:
- 5K run and walk
- 10K run and walk
The event functions as a fundraiser. Proceeds support the Peardale–Chicago Park Firefighters’ Association, the Chicago Park 4-H Club, and the Chicago Park School PTA.
The Peardale–Chicago Park Firefighters’ Association uses funds to support the Chicago Park Fire Protection District by buying equipment and supplies for vehicle accidents, structure fires, medical incidents, and wildland firefighting. Recent purchases include battery-powered scene lighting, low-angle rescue ropes and hardware, safety cones, a weather station monitor, radio upgrades, CPR training manikins, and other tools.
The Chicago Park 4-H Club provides youth projects and learning opportunities such as livestock, sewing, fine arts, crafts, aeronautics, biking, survival skills, and cooking. The club emphasizes community service, runs an annual Fire Safe Clean Up, and provides scholarships and support for youth participation at the county fair. The Chicago Park School PTA works to improve education, health, and welfare for students and funds programs like music and drama, art, after-school sports, assemblies, and science equipment.
