Event overview
The Rooted Half Marathon & 5K takes place on September 27, 2026, at Orion Oaks Park, 1200 Joslyn Rd, Lake Orion, MI. The event offers both in-person and virtual options and includes trail distances through the park. Onsite registration and packet pick-up are available on race day.

Course and race features
The course uses well-maintained, multi-use trails that wind through wooded and grassy areas. Terrain is a mix of flat to gently rolling sections. The race start and finish area is inside a dog pen that opens onto the park trail system. A finisher award is given to participants after they complete their distance.
Registration, fees and limits
Base prices listed in the event information are $65 for the half marathon, $45 for the 5K, $50 for the 5K Doggie Division, $75 for the virtual half, and $55 for the virtual 5K. Price increases occur after January 31, 2026. Registration for virtual events ends September 10, 2026. The 5K Doggie Division is capped at 50 entries.
Dog policy and swag
Dogs must be leashed in the staging area and on trails. Dogs may be off leash only in designated open dog pens. Doggie Division participants receive a custom bandana and dog biscuit.
