Autumn Trail Run in Lake Orion
The Rooted Half Marathon & 5K takes place in Orion Oaks County Park, located in Lake Orion, Michigan. This trail event is held during the autumn season, providing participants with views of the changing fall foliage. The course utilizes well-maintained, multi-use trails that traverse both wooded and grassy sections. The terrain consists of a mix of flat stretches and gently rolling sections.
Participants can choose from several distance options and categories:
- Half Marathon
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Run/Walk + Doggie Division
- Virtual Half Marathon
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk
The event includes a specific 5K Doggie Division limited to 50 participants. In this category, runners and walkers may bring a leashed dog. Specific rules apply regarding animal safety; dogs must remain on a leash at all times within the event staging area and on the trails. The staging area is located within one of the park's dog pens.
Registrants can choose between a sweatshirt or a trucker hat as part of their race materials. The event also features a "PACK" system, which allows individuals to form social groups across different race distances.
