THE ROOTED HALF MARATHON & 5K
The Rooted Half Marathon & 5K takes place on September 27, 2026, at Orion Oaks Park, 1200 Joslyn Rd, Lake Orion, MI. The event offers on-site and virtual options and includes multiple race divisions and a pet-friendly division for the 5K. Registration and pricing vary by event.

Course, logistics and extras
The course uses well-maintained, multi-use park trails through wooded and grassy areas with mostly flat to gently rolling terrain. The race start and finish area is inside a dog pen that opens onto the trail system. Dogs must be leashed in the event staging area and on the trails; dogs may be off leash only in designated open dog pens. The 5K Doggie Division is capped at 50 pups and receives a custom bandana and a dog biscuit. On-site registration and packet pick-up are available on race day. Runners can join or create a PACK, a social group that can span any race distance or virtual entry. Race swag options include a crewneck sweatshirt or a trucker hat; virtual entries receive the same swag and packet mailing is included.
