The Ranch 50K and Half Marathon
The Ranch 50K and Half Marathon take place at Daley Ranch in Escondido, California, with the start and finish located at the Dixon Lake Picnic Area. The event offers two distances:
- 50K two 25K loops, 6,318 feet (1,926 m) total elevation gain
- Half Marathon single loop, 2,706 feet (825 m) elevation gain
The 25K loop used for the 50K contains 3,159 feet (963 m) of gain per loop. There are three fully stocked aid stations on course. For the 50K these are La Honda (5.4 mi and 21.25 mi), Cougar Pass (10.8 mi and 26.3 mi), and Dixon Lake (15.5 mi and 31.1 mi). The half marathon aid stations are La Honda (4.75 mi), Lilac Hill (9.5 mi), and Dixon Lake (13.1 mi).
Cut-off times are set for each distance: the 50K has a 4.75 hour cut off for the first loop and a 9.5 hour cut off for the full race; the half marathon has a 9 hour cut off. Course GPX files are provided for both distances. Training runs are organized with all sessions beginning and ending at the Daley Ranch Gate near the Dixon Lake parking area. Planned runs include an ~8 mile connector run, a 13.1 mile full half marathon loop, and a 15.5 mile full 50K loop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
