Policies and community impact
The Race is rain-or-shine; organizers may delay, modify, or cancel the event for severe weather or hazardous conditions. If lightning occurs within an eight-mile radius, the event will be delayed by 30 minutes from the most recent strike. When possible, safety decisions will be made no later than two hours before the scheduled start and communicated to participants.
The Race Foundation is the event’s charitable arm. Five dollars from every registration fee is allocated to a Charitable Impact Fund, and the foundation organizes service projects and an expo featuring small and Black-owned businesses.
