Event Overview
The Perogie Dash takes place in Danbury, Connecticut, starting at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church on Joe's Hill Road. This athletic event is organized to benefit The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children and Families, a local bereavement service facility. The race offers two primary distances for participants:
- 5K run and health walk
- 1K kids fun run
Course and Prizes
The event includes specific recognition for various performance categories. Custom Matroiska Nesting Doll prizes are awarded to the top male and female finishers overall. Additionally, these specialized prizes are given to the top three male and female finishers in several age divisions, ranging from under 14 to over 70. All participants in the kids fun run receive medals for their participation.
Amenities and Logistics
Registration includes a custom designed T-shirt for those who pre-register by August 3, with additional shirts provided on the day of the event based on availability. Following the completion of the races, a post-race gathering is held featuring homemade perogies and other refreshments.
