The event takes place at the Railroad Canal Line main parking lot in Hamden, Connecticut, near the Quinnipiac York Hill Campus and the Farmington Heritage Canal Trail. It is organized as out-and-back road courses with no turns and no traffic on the running line.
The 10 mile course is an out-and-back covering 5 miles each way, with aid stations supplying Poland Spring water and Gatorade Endurance at Miles 2.4, 5 and 7.6. The course is described as super flat and shaded and has a 2:30 cutoff (15 minute per mile pace). The 5 mile course is an out-and-back covering 2.5 miles each way, with an aid station at Mile 2.6, described as super flat and shaded and with a 2:00 cutoff (24 minute per mile pace).
Amenities provided for entrants include men's and women's cut short sleeve tech shirts, custom 3 inch finisher medals for ten mile finishers, porto-lets at the venue, and free finish line photos. Live online, text, and email results are offered.
Awards are custom coffee mugs presented to the top three male and top three female overall finishers and the top three male and female finishers in age groups 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
On race morning, bib pickup is handled at the venue; participants must know their bib number or use the self-lookup area. There is plentiful parking at Rail Trail lots and on-street where legal. No parking is allowed at the Dunkin Donuts / Amity Liquors lot.
The venue is accessible via several regional airports including Bradley, JFK and LaGuardia, and Tweed Regional Airport is noted as being under 15 miles from the site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
