The Perfect Ten & Five Mile Road Race
The Perfect Ten & Five Mile Road Race takes place on August 1, 2026 at the Railroad Canal Line Parking Lot, 270 Sherman Ave., Hamden, CT. The venue is on the New Haven / Northampton rail trail and the event is held rain or shine.
Race distances:
- 10 Mile - out-and-back course with aid stations at miles 2.4, 5, and 7.6; net gain 150'; no turns, no cars.
- 5 Mile - out-and-back course with an aid station at mile 2.6; net gain 60'; no turns, no cars.
Entrants receive men's and women's cut short sleeve tech t-shirts. Ten mile finishers receive custom 3 inch finisher medals. Aid stations supply Poland Spring water and Gatorade Endurance along the course and at the finish. The venue provides porto-lets, and the event offers live/text/email results plus free finish line photos and same-day video.
Awards are custom coffee mugs presented to the top three male and female overall finishers and top three in male and female age groups: 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Race day payment does not include card acceptance; cash and checks are accepted. Parking is available at rail trail lots and on-street where legal; one private lot is not available for parking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
