The Perfect Ten & Five Mile Road Race Shoreline Sharks 2026
Organizers present a road race event on August 1, 2026 at the Railroad Canal Line Parking Lot, 270 Sherman Ave., Hamden, CT 06518. Two measured out-and-back distances are offered:
- 10 Mile out-and-back course
- 5 Mile out-and-back course
The 10 Mile course has a 2:30 cutoff (15 minute per mile pace), aid stations with Poland Spring Water and Gatorade Endurance at miles 2.4, 5, and 7.6, and a reported net elevation gain of 150 feet. The 5 Mile course has a 2:00 cutoff (24 minute per mile pace), an aid station at mile 2.6, and a reported net elevation gain of 60 feet. Both courses are described as having no turns and no vehicle traffic on the route and are shaded.
Entrants receive short sleeve tech T-shirts. Ten mile finishers receive custom 3-inch finisher medals. Other amenities include porto-lets at the venue, live/text/email timing results, and free finish line photos. Awards are custom coffee mugs for top 3 male and female overall finishers and top 3 in age groups 10-19 through 80+.
Registration fees are listed with early bird and race-day prices (examples: 5 Miler $33.80 early, $35 race day; 10 Miler $64.85 early, $65 race day). All fees are non-refundable, non-transferable. On race day payments accepted in cash, checks, and Venmo; cards are not accepted. Bib pickup begins with event staff at 5:15 AM and registration closes at 6:45 AM. Parking is available at rail trail lots and legal street parking; parking at the Dunkin Donuts / Amity Liquors lot is not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
