The Perfect Ten & Five Mile Road Race
The event is held on August 1, 2026 at the Rail Trail Parking Lot, 4340 Farmington Heritage Canal Trail, Hamden, CT. It is organized by the Shoreline Sharks and uses the town rail trail for the course.
The course is fully on the rail trail with no street crossings and no traffic. Both distances use a simple out and back format on a mostly flat, shaded route. The 10 mile course has a net elevation gain of about 150 feet. The 5 mile course has a net elevation gain of about 60 feet.

- 10 Mile out and back, net gain about 150 feet.
- 5 Mile out and back, net gain about 60 feet.
Aid stations supply Poland Spring water and Gatorade Endurance at specified mile markers. Race amenities listed by the organizer include short sleeve technical shirts for participants, a custom 3 inch finisher medal for ten mile finishers, custom coffee mug awards for overall and age group places, porta-lets at the venue, free finish line photos, and live text and email results. Parking is available at Rail Trail lots and on nearby streets.
Online registration ends July 30, 2026. Entry fees listed are $60 for the ten mile and $30 for the five mile. Race day entries may be accepted if the event does not sell out; cash and checks accepted on race day and no card payments are accepted.
