Event
The Pendulum 2026 is scheduled for 22 March 2026 in Langleeford. The event is organised by Northern Fell Running Events Ltd. The minimum age is 18. Entries open 3 April 2025 and close 20 March 2026. The entry fee is £29. At the time of listing there are 19 participants entered.
Course
The route is an 11-mile trail that includes ascending Hedgehope Hill and The Cheviot, with a total climb of 3,689 ft. The course is waymarked and there is a water station at the halfway point. Runners will receive a GPX file of the route before race day. The event is timed and race bibs are issued. Finisher medals are given to all participants.
Logistics and rules
The event is supported by marshals and overseen by mountain rescue. Organisers recommend trail shoes, waterproofs, a whistle, hat and gloves. A cut-off of 3 hours applies to reach the halfway point (climb Cheviot and return); those who make this cut-off may continue to Hedgehope. Parking in the valley is limited and stalls at the event village will operate on a cash-only basis due to lack of signal. The event may be postponed if snow or ice prevent access.
