Pendine Sands Races
The Pendine Sands Races, held on the beach at Pendine Sands, UK, offer a unique running experience with distances including 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon. The firm sand, historically used for land speed record attempts, provides an excellent surface ideal even for barefoot running. The courses are out-and-back routes along the beach, with the Half Marathon featuring a short out-and-back section before running the full length of the beach twice.
The event is cup-free, encouraging runners to bring reusable cups for water stations. All finishers receive bespoke medals, and top male and female runners in each race are awarded prizes. The race atmosphere is friendly and inclusive, welcoming runners and walkers alike, with a four-hour time limit for the Half Marathon.
The event is organized by Every Mile Counts Ltd and is governed by tide times to ensure optimal running conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
