About the race
The Pendine Sands Races take place on 11 April 2027 at Pendine Sands, with the start / finish by Barnacles Cafe (Sea View, Pendine, SA33 4NY). For 2027 the event programme comprises beach races for:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon
All races use the same beach course. The full course is 3.28 miles (about 5.28 km) one way, with turning points at 2.5 km and 5 km to create the required distances; the 10k event covers about 10.5 km using a single out-and-back and the half marathon is two full out-and-backs. Distance flag markers are positioned at 0.25 mile intervals.
The event is cup free. Self-dispensing water stations are positioned at the start / finish and at the beach turning points; competitors must supply their own reusable cup. Maximum allowable running time for all races is four hours. All finishers receive a bespoke Pendine medal and trophies are awarded to male and female champions in the 5k, 10k and half marathon categories.
Charity partners include Cancer Research Wales and Elidyr Communities Trust; charity entry options include fundraising targets and related benefits.
