Pendine Sands Races : event overview
The Pendine Sands Races for 2027 offer three beach events: 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon. All race distances use a single beach course with distance flag markers at 0.25 mile intervals. The full course measures 3.28 miles (5.28 km); the Half Marathon completes two full out-and-backs, the 10k one full out-and-back (total 10.5k), and the 5k is a 2.5k out-and-back.
All races are cup-free and served by self-service water stations. Water Station 1 is at the start/finish; Stations 2 and 4 are at the 2.5k turning point and used twice; Station 3 is at the 5k turning point. Competitors must provide their own reusable cup. The course is described as generally firm sand.
Finishers in each race receive a bespoke Pendine medal. Trophies are awarded to the male and female champions of the Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k. Performance technical T-shirts are offered at checkout for a discounted price and will be provided on race day.
Entry fees for 2027 reflect an increase due to MOD charges: 5k £30, 10k £35, Half Marathon £40. Entry fees are non-refundable; entries may be transferred or deferred up to four weeks before the event. Parking is available at the pay-and-display car park by Barnacles Cafe.
